Position Summary

The Director of Facility Stewardship Advisory is responsible for building and scaling Smart Church Solutions’ national advisory team.

This is a Director-level builder role operating as a player/coach with growth potential. The individual will personally lead facility assessments and advisory engagements while also building the infrastructure, processes, pricing discipline, and delivery standards necessary to scale this division responsibly.

Over the next 2–3 years, this role will focus on:

• Building operational infrastructure for the advisory practice
• Expanding recurring advisory services
• Maintaining strong financial discipline and margin integrity
• Strengthening the strategic connection between advisory services and eSPACE adoption

This position requires a leader who combines deep facility management expertise with business discipline, strong executive communication, and the ability to represent Smart Church Solutions as a national voice in Facility Stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advisory Division Leadership & Strategy

• Develop and execute a 3-year growth roadmap for the Facility Stewardship Advisory division.
• Drive approximately 25% year-over-year advisory revenue growth.
• Formalize tiered service offerings and pricing structure.
• Maintain 30+% gross margin discipline for advisory engagements.
• Develop KPI dashboards and operating cadence to monitor division health.
• Align advisory engagements with broader Smart Church Solutions strategy.
• Define and refine means, methods, best practices and the like.

2. Player/Coach Advisory Delivery

• Personally conduct Facility Condition Assessments for select clients.
• Lead quarterly executive advisory engagements with church leadership teams.
• Model excellence in client delivery, professionalism, and executive communication.
• Represent Smart Church Solutions as a national authority in Facility Stewardship through speaking, teaching, and thought leadership.

3. Recurring Advisory Development

• Develop and increase assessment-to-advisory conversion rates (target: 30+%).
• Develop and scale recurring advisory subscription services.
• Ensure advisory engagements utilize eSPACE as the operational system of record.
• Create standardized deliverables, templates, and engagement frameworks that support scalable delivery.

4. Assessor Network & Team Development

• Build scalable infrastructure to support current and future W-2 advisory team members as the division grows.
• Recruit, onboard, and oversee a national network of 1099 facility assessors.
• Establish certification standards and training frameworks.
• Maintain quality control and brand consistency across all advisory engagements.

Qualifications

Required

• 7-10+ years of facilities, operations, construction, or related leadership experience overseeing complex facilities or campuses (e.g., large churches, education, healthcare, commercial, or multi-site environments).
• Experience managing or influencing significant operational budgets, capital planning, or facility programs (preferably $1M+ annually).
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and developing people.
• Strong understanding of capital planning, deferred maintenance, and life cycle forecasting.
• Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel nationally for client engagements.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and mindset.

Preferred

• Prior P&L responsibility in a business or operational environment.
• Experience conducting formal facility condition assessments.
• Experience using eSPACE or other CMMS platforms.
• Experience helping build or scale professional service or advisory operations.
