word of 2021

To everyone reading this, Happy New Year from Smart Church Solutions! Congratulations, you made it through 2020. We are closing the door on one year and walking through the threshold of a new one.

With a new year comes new resolutions. Yes, I make plans to eat healthier, go to the gym a couple more times a week, spend less time on my phone, and spend more time living in the present. However, resolutions only get you so far (or only last until Valentine’s day, if we are being honest).

Word for 2020

What we need this year is a word or mantra to live by daily. Picking a word for the year is something I have done in my personal life for years now. While I haven’t always shared my word publicly, this year has a lot more at stake.

I believe sharing my word this year will help create the following:

  1. Transparency: As a company, our team strives to be as transparent as possible. Transparency allows space for various relationships to be built in an authentic way and creates a powerful level of trust between others.
  2. Unity: Maybe you have chosen a similar word like me, or maybe you have one that is slightly different. During a time where we have been physically distanced from one another, I believe there is power when we work together to move forward.

Onward

If you have been keeping up with our blogs in 2020, you have probably seen me end a lot of them with the word “onward”. As you may have guessed, this was intentional. We have all suffered through a hectic year filled with uncertainty. I know many of us did not know how to press forward on some days. Nevertheless, we did. We pressed onward.

While we do not know what is in store for 2021, I am choosing to move forward every day. Even Paul said the following in Philippians 3:13–14:

“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

If you haven’t already picked a word for 2021, maybe “onward” is just what you need. Let us not forget that God is already in 2021, and He is making a way for us to move forward with every new morning.

We wish you all a Happy New Year from Smart Church Solutions and hope you will press forward this year with strength and courage. ONWARD!
